Solutions, Solutions, Solutions

The Dog Days of Summer.  Although many dogs dislike summer heat, the name has nothing to do with the canine species.  The name comes from the ancient belief that Sirius, also called the Dog Star, was somehow responsible for the hot weather.  As we are in middle of the summer here in the U.S. and yes it is very hot and humid in the northeast, I was reminded that there is a solution to beat the summer heat, called air conditioning.   There are many parts that make up an A/C system (including plumbing), however it is the sum of the parts together that ultimately provide relief from the heat.

I hosted a call this week with our direct DM sellers worldwide to give them an overview of a couple of our key DM solution providers.  Two of the partners that were covered have a strong focus on Informix (ie. they build solutions on top of  Informix).   These two partners were Cobrasonic and Fourth Generation.  I included an overview of  their solutions below.

You will see more and more focus around solutions moving forward.  If you are less into the application development side you can still build base solutions for customers and others to build off of  in the process of delivering final solutions.  So as an example, maybe you focus on Informix DB, Informix Warehouse and Cognos, as the base of technology you provide to your end clients.  This is really about putting together as many of the pieces as you can and where applicable adding an industry focus.

For the heat and humidity, do what I do and turn on the A/C.
